Proposals to meet predicted shortages of qualified US aerospace workers were formulated at a workshop organised by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) in concert with the US government.
Proposals include a national public awareness campaign on aerospace careers; developing a comprehensive supply and demand tracking capability for science, technology, engineering, mathematics and critical foreign language workers; chartering an organisation to oversee workforce activities; and establishing one central agency for all security clearance investigations.
