Lockheed Martin has released a video clip of the first flight of the upgraded C-5M Super Galaxy transport, which flew for the first time earlier this week.

The US manufacturer has isued a video news release, designed for broadcasters, of "day one of the long flight test programme". The aircraft flew from Dobbins AFB in Georgia on Monday equipped with General Electric CF6 engines to offer 22% more thrust as well as an upgraded avionics suite. Lockheed Martin will deliver a further 100 of the modernised Super Galaxys, saving the US Air Force an estimated $20 billion over 35 years, it says.
