Virgin Atlantic Airways has hired Deutsche Bank to carry out a review of the aviation market on its behalf, and has received several "lines of enquiry" from other carriers interested in potential tie-ups.
In a statement, Virgin says: "Following Deutsche Bank's recent appointment, we have received a number of lines of enquiry but it is far too early to comment on individual details. We expect Deutsche Bank's work to run on for a number of months but have nothing further to add at this stage."
The UK's Sky News is reporting that Virgin has received an approach from Delta Air Lines, but Virgin is declining to comment on specifics.
