Washington-based vortex generator specialist Micro Aerodynamics has completed certification work on a new micro vortex generator kit for the parallel-winged variant of the Piper PA-28 Cherokee. In tests on the 112kW (150hp) and 175kW-powered versions, the kit reduced stall speed by 4.4kt (5 mph) in landing configuration, and by 3.5 kt with flaps up. It also improves slow speed handling, says the company which has now produced kits for almost 100 models of single and twin light aircraft.
