Success Since its launch at the Singapore air show in 1994, the Aerospace Industry Awards programme has gone from the strength to strength. The Awards return to Singapore in 1996, as one of the most prestigious events in the aviation calendar.Much of the credit for that success goes to the support which has poured in from the aviation industry worldwide. This year, as in the past, hundreds of entries have been received from across the world. That is as it should be.Although it was Flight International which took the initiative in setting up the Awards, the aim from the start was to create a unique event for the industry, judged by the industry itself. The awards are not picked by journalists or judged from some pre-selected list of candidates. They are open to any aerospace company, airline or aviation-service provider anywhere in the world, and judged by an independent panel of experts.A big vote of thanks must, as ever, go to our sponsors, without whose support this awards programme would not have been possible. Our thanks also go to this year's judging panel which tackled the task of selecting winners from among a high level and quality of entries. The authority and independence of their judgement is appreciated. With this year's winners chosen, we are already planning ahead for the next event, which will take place at the Paris air show in June 1997.If you would like to guarantee that your company or organisation has a chance to enter for these 1997 awards, please fax back the form at the back of this supplement and we will ensure that you are among the first to receive an entry form when they become available towards the end of the year.We wish you luck,Allan Winn EditorFlight InterenationalContents
