The Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft deal commits UK taxpayers to pay nigh on £1 million ($1.8 million) every week for 27 years for each and every one of the new flight refuelling aircraft.
While politicians and their apparatchiks are the authors of this imbecility, the Royal Air Force high command has accepted it without attempting to refute criticisms that any modified airliner is poorly suited, and the Airbus A330 chosen is too big: not one of the service's 142 air officers has done what they all owe their country and service: resigned to raise hell about it.
