Workers at Embraer’s Sao Jose dos Campos production site were not striking on 18 September and the facility is operating normally, says the company in a statement that comes after union action.

On 17 September, some members of union Sindicato dos Metalurgicos walked off the job after the union rejected a salary proposal submitted by Embraer.

Embraer now says production at the Sao Jose dos Campos site, where the company assembles E-Jets, continues uninterrupted.

“Embraer confirms that its employees are not on strike and factory operations are continuing normally,” the company said on 18 September.

It is unclear how many employees were involved in the walk out.

The union called the strike on 17 September after its leaders rejected an Embraer contract offer concerning 2026 compensation.

Manufacturing trade association Federation of Industries of the State of Sao Paulo is negotiating with the union on behalf of Embraer. That association represents some 130,000 firms in the state of Sao Paulo.
