Air Cambodia has made commitments for the Comac C909 narrowbody, as the first example in a medical support configuration enters service.
The airline has ordered 10 C909s and signed letters of intent for 10 additional aircraft, according to official Chinese propaganda outlet China Daily.

The deal between the airline and the Chinese airframer was signed in the city of Zhengzhou on 8 September.
FlightGlobal has reached out to both Comac and the airliner – formerly known as Cambodia Angkor Air – for comment.
Cirium, an aviation analytics company, indicates that there are 165 C909s – formerly designated ARJ21 – in service, mainly with Chinese airlines.
If the aircraft are delivered, Air Cambodia will become the type’s third international operator after Indonesia’s TransNusa, which operates four C909s, and Vietnam’s Vietjet Air, which operates two.
The carrier’s existing fleet comprises three ATR 72s and a pair of Airbus A320s.

Separately, Comac says that the first C909 in a medical services configuration has been delivered to China Flying Dragon General Aviation.
With a range up to 2,000nm (3,700km), the aircraft will be used for “emergency rescue, telemedicine, and critical care transfer.”
