Low-cost carrier EasyJet will on 21 October open it first airport lounge, a co-branded facility it is opening at London Gatwick in association with No 1 Lounges.

The lounge access is available for advance bookings through EasyJet’s partnership with Holiday Extras or can be booked on the day in one-, two- or three-hour slots.

Users of the Gateway lounge will be able to access free wi-fi, a choice of dining options, and lounge soft-seating with refreshments, as well as a games area.

EasyJet commercial proposition and innovation director, Rachael Smith, says: ”We’re always looking for opportunities to offer travellers more choice and great value, so we’re proud that The Gateway will be able to offer something for everyone whether it’s all the essentials for a workspace, somewhere comfortable to relax before jetting off or to entertain the family.

“The launch is timely as we are seeing the recovery begin in the UK, not only for leisure travel where winter sun destinations are proving popular once again, but for business travellers too, who are returning in their biggest numbers since before the pandemic.”

EasyJet has in recent years increasingly expanded its product offering to cater for business travellers. While the airline has previously partnered with lounge providers to offer pay-for lounge access, this marks the first EasyJet branded lounge initiative. The lounge is located in the North Terminal at Gatwick, which is the airline’s biggest airport base.
