AlliedSignal has acquired from GKN a controlling interest in Normalair-Garrett in the UK. The deal gives the US company a 52% holding in the environmental control systems builder, with an option to buy the remaining shares from GKN after 31 December, 1999. AlliedSignal has held a 48% stake since 1967. The deal also involves the take-over from GKN of Hermetic Aircraft International, a New York-based repair and overhaul facility.
