A Friday panel at AUVSI's Unmanned Systems North America 2011 will discuss new efforts to demonstrate the value of unmanned aircraft to state, provincial, tribal and local law enforcement officials and public safety agencies. The efforts include a new not-for-profit organization intended to demonstrate the value of unmanned aircraft to such agencies and serve as a distribution channel for knowledge and technology.

The UAS Public Safety Working Group, home to the efforts, is considering hosting UAS hands-on workshops with law enforcement and public safety agencies. More information on the UPS-WG program will be discussed at the Barriers for First Responders panel session at 10:30 on Friday in Room 146C.
