Singaporean aircraft lessor Avation has agreed to buy a Boeing 737-800 leased to Garuda Indonesia until 2022.

The conditional agreement is “subject to closing conditions typical of a transaction of this nature”, and should close during the second quarter, it states in a stock exchange disclosure.

It did not identify the aircraft, nor the vendor, but notes that it is around eight years old. Cirium’s Fleets Analyzer indicates that this corresponds to MSN 30146, which is owned by MCAP Europe.

"We are constantly looking to further diversify our aircraft portfolio and operator base,” commented executive chairman Jeff Chatfield. “We believe that the Boeing 737-800 NG is an excellent aircraft, indeed one of the most successful and popular aircraft types ever made, with a good residual value outlook.”

Once the transaction is completed, it will be the first 737 to enter Avation’s portfolio. The lessor attempted to purchase a 737-800, operated by Shenzhen Airlines, in 2015 deal that failed to close.

Fleets Analyzer shows that the lessor has 42 aircraft in its portfolio, mostly comprised of Airbus narrowbodies and ATR 72 turboprops.
