The Royal Netherlands Air Force has accepted its first Pilatus PC-7 lead-in trainer painted in a black colour scheme. Replacing a mixed scheme of yellow, red and white, the new design will improve students’ ability to perform formation flights in poor visibility. The air force plans to have all its PC-7s operational in the new scheme by early 2006, following anti-corrosion checks and painting at RUAG Aerospace’s Oberpfaffenhofen facility in Germany.
