Brisbane-based Flight Training Australia (FLA) has signed a deal with China Eastern Airlines and the Civil Aviation University of China in Tianjin to train cadet pilots.

Thirty three cadet pilots will commence training this month, says Flight Training Australia. One hundred additional cadets will be trained over the course of 2009 and 2010, it adds.

"Flight training remains a growth industry in Australia and we are planning on expanding our facilities and bases further, as well as employing additional staff," says FLA managing director Peter Boughen.
