BarcoView has been awarded a contract for the production of 320 control display and management systems for the Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter. Deliveries begin in August and will conclude in 2011. US Congress has been notified of a possible sale of Radar System Improvement Programme kits to France to upgrade Boeing E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System aircraft. The deal will be valued at $190 million. Goodrich and its Japanese trading partner have sold DB-110 long-range optical cameras to the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force. The cameras will be delivered from the middle of next year and will be installed on modified Kawasaki-built Lockheed Martin P-3C Orions. Ultra Electronics has won a £4.9 million ($7 million) contract from the Canadian Department of National Defence to provide ARR-502 sonobuoy receivers for Lockheed Martin CP-140Aurora (P-3) maritime patrol aircraft. The Southwest Research Institute and Teledyne Brown have received a $6 million US Army contract to study systems aboard the Boeing CH-47Chinook and recommend changes to eliminate potential long-term serviceability problems. Radiola has won a NZ$5.5 million ($2.5 million) deal to supply the Royal Australian Air Force with a transportable instrument landing system for use in East Timor. Boeing has been awarded a $7 billion US Air Force indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for AWACS modernisation and sustainment. The programme will lengthen the F-3s service life and improve its operational capabilities and effectiveness. Raytheon has received a $9.3 million contract to provide engineering support for radar systems equipping US Navy Grumman F-14 Tomcats. The Rolls-Royce/Honeywell Light Helicopter Turbine Engine joint venture has been awarded a $8.5 million US Army contract to cover the T800 pre-production qualification programme in support of the Boeing Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche. Herley Industries has won a contract from Lockheed Martin to supply telemetry data acquisition systems for monitoring the Trident II D-5 Test Missile Kit programme. The deal could be worth $23 million over 13 years.
