AJW Aviation's engines arm has been chosen by Donavia to manage shop visits for the Aeroflot subsidiary's CFM56-5B powerplants.

As part of its mandate, UK-based AJW Engines negotiated a maintenance contract on Donavia's behalf with an undisclosed MRO provider.

"We challenge the MRO to justify their repair choices, keeping everyone focused," says Morgan Brown, an engineer at AJW.

Donavia's "engine management service" (EMS) package with AJW included a special introductory rate and volume discounts.

The Russian airline operates 10 Airbus A319 narrowbodies, all powered by the CFM56-5B, Flightgobal's Ascend Fleets database shows.

Under the EMS deal, Donavia also receives parts and replacement engine support from AJW.
