EADS has made a series of management changes, with joint chief executive Rainer Hertrich now directly responsible for the aeronautics division, taking over from Dietrich Russell, who is retiring. Aeronautics includes Eurocopter, ATR, Socata and the maintenance, conversion and aerostructures businesses, including Sogerma.

In a reshuffle within its defence and security systems division, Johann Heitzmann has been appointed the new head of EADS Military Aircraft, replacing Aloysius Rauen, who is to become chief executive of Eurofighter, in which EADS is a partner with BAE Systems and Alenia. Heitzmann's old job, as head of the defence electronics business, is taken by Bernhard Gerwert, currently head of the EADS naval and ground systems unit in Ulm.
