Egypt has ordered six additional Airbus Military C295 medium transports, in a move which will bring its eventual fleet of the type to 12 examples.
Announced on 16 January, the package also includes the provision of spare parts, support equipment, training and field support, says Airbus Military. Deliveries will commence from the end of 2013.
"A repeat order from a loyal customer is extremely valued by Airbus Military and the trust that the ministry of defence of Egypt is placing in us confirms that we offer a product that responds to our customer's needs," says Antonio Rodríguez Barberán, Airbus Military's senior vice-president commercial.
Airbus Military says it has sold 121 C295s to 17 operators, with 90 aircraft now flown by 15 countries. The company's most recent other order was for one aircraft to be delivered to existing user the Colombian air force.
