The Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (SFPA) has awarded a five-year contract to Inverness, UK-based Highland Airways to maintain and operate its Reims Aviation F406 reconnaissance aircraft on fishery patrols. The F406, a utility derivative of Cessna's 400-series twin turboprop, will be transferred from Prestwick before the contract start date on 1 April. The SFPA is responsible for enforcing UK, European and international fisheries regulations in the 329,000km2 (127,000 miles2) of sea around Scotland and, when required, in international waters.
