The first international commercial air services to Iraq for 12 years began last week when Qatar Airways started twice-weekly Doha-Basra flights with an Airbus A320. Qatar chief executive Akbar Al Baker says: "We initially expect the flights will serve the international aid community. Eventually we expect to establish services for the people of Basra and Baghdad."
