Leslie Thng will succeed Yeoh Phee Teik as the chief executive of Vistara in October.

Thng is currently the chief commercial officer at Budget Aviation Holdings, the parent company of Scoot and Tigerair. Prior to this, he was also chief executive at SilkAir. His appointment to lead the Indian airline is still subject to approval from the Indian government, says Vistara.

Yeoh, who was seconded to Vistara from Singapore Airlines (SIA), was key in the setting up of the Delhi-based carrier. He will return to SIA "to take up a senior appointment", says Vistara.

"Leslie will lead Vistara in its next phase of growth, including international operations, building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved by the airline under the leadership of Mr. Yeoh Phee Teik," adds the airline.

Vistara is a 51:49 joint venture between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines.
