Vietnam Airlines has selected Lufthansa Technik (LHT) to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services for its ATR 72 fleet's engines.

"The three-year-contract encompasses the PW124 engine subtype powering the airline's seven ATR 72-200s as well as the PW127 subtype to be used on up to 16 ATR 72-500s," says the German MRO firm.

LHT has also extended a contract to provide MRO services for the Hamilton Sundstrand APS3200 auxiliary power units used in Vietnam Airlines' fleet of Airbus A321s until the middle of 2010.

Vietnam Airlines operates 15 Airbus A321 aircraft, with 41 on order.
