Taipei-based China Airlines (CAL) is to sell one of its Boeing 737-800s to counter overcapacity after the failure of bilateral air services talks between Taiwan and South Korea. CAL's fleet plan was drafted on the assumption of an agreement on direct flights between the countries for the first time since services were halted after Seoul's diplomatic recognition of the Beijing government in 1992. Five more 737s are on order. Rotate Air of Denmark has purchased an ex-Flying Enterprise of Sweden BAe Jetstream 31 in a deal arranged by ISIS Aviation Services. The aircraft was purchased off lease following refurbishment by Southampton-based Osprey Aviation, and will continue to be utilised on wet-lease to Aliway Airlines of Italy.
