South African business aviation services company National Airways (NAC) has reported its strongest ever revenues as its territory for Raytheon Aircraft types is extended to cover most of southern Africa.

The Johannesburg-based company expects to deliver one new aircraft a week into the country during the 2004-5 financial year, with sales driven by the upturn in the South African economy and appreciation of the rand against the US dollar, the company says. NAC suggests most of the predicted 52 aircraft sales will come from its Robinson Helicopter distributor rights, with sales of over 30 R44s and R22s forecast. NAC predicts sales of four Raytheon Beechcraft Hawker 800XPs, three Premier Is and three King Airs as well as other fixed-wing turbines and Bell Helicopter types.

NAC appointed Comav as a sales agent to cover new and used aircraft in neighbouring Namibia last month.
