Polish emergency medical services (EMS) operator Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe (LPR) has taken delivery of four additional Airbus Helicopters H135 light twins, taking its fleet of the type to 27 units.

The latest examples are all powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW206BB engines and delivery to Warsaw-headquartered LPR took place following an acceptance procedure at the manufacturer's Donauwörth, Germany site.

“Airbus Helicopters is committed to providing Poland with state-of-the-art and reliable helicopters to carry out emergency service duties,” says Mickael Peru, managing director at Airbus Helicopters Polska.

“We also ensure that these aircraft can be autonomously maintained in-country and in full accordance with the operator’s requirements."

LPR ordered the latest batch of H135s in August 2015, after a competitive tender, as part of its ongoing fleet modernisation initiative.

Airbus Helicopters says around 25% of the 1,200-strong global fleet of H135s are used for EMS operations.
