Airbus is hiking the price of its A380 by 8.4% to $375.3 million, while the rest of its range sees an average cost rise of 4.4%.

The airframer says that the average price increase is down to increased investment to ramp-up production rates coupled with the effect of the weak dollar.

The additional cost rise of the A380 "reflects the type's exceptional value it clearly generates for its operators, with whom it has exceeded all expectations in service," says John Leahy, Airbus COO, Customers.

Its price list shows that the Neo variant of the A320 will cost an additional $6.2 million over the $85 million for the standard aircraft.

An A330-200 comes in at $222.5 million, an A340-600 at $275.4 million and the A350-1000XWB at $299.7 million.
