Ameco Beijing, a joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa, will provide heavy maintenance for ten Austrian Airlines wide-bodied aircraft.

In a statement the Beijing maintenance, repair and overhaul firm says the deal covers six Boeing 767 aircraft and four Boeing 777 aircraft.

Austrian Airlines' winter season layovers will start from October 2009 and finish in April 2010. The deal follows another maintenance deal last year for the same fleet during the winter of 2008/2009, the statement says. Cooperation between the two companies on heavy maintenance of wide-bodied aircraft dates back to 2004.

The statement adds that Ameco has provided heavy maintenance services for Austrian Airlines a total of 19 times.

Air China owns 60% of Ameco Beijing and Lufthansa 40%.
