Rockwell Collins is at Dubai for the first time with its new interiors business following its April 2017 acquisition of B/E Aerospace.

Werner Lieberherr, executive vice-president and chief operating officer, Interior Systems – and the former chief executive of B/E – says the acquisition has enabled the company to offer nose-to-tail solutions for aircraft.

In addition, it can now drive forward its ambition of delivering a fully connected aircraft.

"We see a lot of synergies in connectivity – Rockwell Collins has the capability to make that happen.

"The biggest change for us since the acquisition is that we are now able to dip into a much larger R&D pool."

Lieberherr declines to be drawn on any timeline for the introduction of a fully connected aircraft, but says: "We are working on it and we are making good progress."
