​Embraer named Antonio Carlos Garcia as the company’s new chief financial officer and investor relations officer replacing Nelson Salgado, who will move to the chief operations officer role at the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.

Embraer named Antonio Carlos Garcia as the company’s new chief financial officer and investor relations officer, replacing Nelson Salgado, who will move to the chief operations officer role at the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer.

The new appointments will take effect on 1 January 2020, the airframer says in a statement on 7 November.

Garcia comes to Embraer from steelmaker ThyssenKrupp, where he spent the past nine years working in various finance and controlling roles. According to his LinkedIn profile, his most recent position was as the global CFO of the Forged Technologies business unit, based in Germany.

Prior to that, Garcia was at the ZF Group and Siemens, in various business segments. Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master's degree in business administration.

Salgado, an Embraer veteran with more than 30 years’ experience at the company in roles ranging from engineering to external affairs to corporate financial planning, will move from the CFO role to the chief operations officer position. He holds two engineering degrees as well as an MBA.

Embraer will announce third quarter financial results next week.
