CAE has launched the CAE 700MR flight training device to improve military helicopter flight and mission training.

"We listened to our customers to design and develop a high-end flight training device that addresses the highest priorities for military helicopter mission training, such as a realistic tactical synthetic environment, extreme field-of-view visual system, and architecture designed for networking and interoperability," says Gene Colabatistto, CAE’s group president, defence and security.

The CAE 700MR is based on the company's CAE 3000MR series full-mission helicopter simulator. A key difference is that it is in a fixed-base platform.

The new system draws from the company’s experience developing FTDs to support training for the Royal Navy's AgustaWestland AW101 Merlins and the UK Military Flying Training System's Airbus Helicopters H135/H145 rotorcraft.
