Lockheed Martin announces that the first F-16 Fighting Falcon destined for the Iraq Air Force has achieved first flight.
The aircraft is one of 36 Block 52 F-16s ordered for Iraq through the Department of Defense, says Lockheed in a 7 May media release.
The company says the Iraq order will sustain its F-16 production line through 2017.
