India's first Embraer EMB-145 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft has arrived in Bengaluru following a flight from Brazil.
The aircraft was delivered to the Centre for Airborne Systems (CABS) at Hindustan Aeronautics' airport near the city, India's defence ministry said in a statement.
The ferry flight was operated by personnel from the Indian air force and Embraer.
CABS is a unit of India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which developed the aircraft's active electronically scanned array radar and other electronic systems.
In the coming months the DRDO will integrate the aircraft's mission system. Flight trials will commence at the beginning of 2013.
The second of three EMB-145s will be delivered in December, the defence ministry said.
