Australian low cost carrier Jetstar Airways has entered a fare agreement with members of the Oneworld alliance, allowing flights on Jetstar to be included on select Oneworld itineraries.

From 1 February 2011, Jetstar-operated flights under its codeshare agreement with parent Qantas Ariways can be sold by other Oneworld carriers and travel agents, says Jetstar.

"Qantas code shares on virtually every Jetstar flight, so this arrangement covers almost the full schedule of Jetstar Australia and New Zealand operations," says Jetstar.

The agreement will initially apply to itineraries ticketed by Oneworld carriers that have interline agreements with Jetstar. These include Qantas, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Japan Airlines, LAN and Royal Jordanian. Jetstar plans to extend this arrangement to other Oneworld members.

For passengers traveling on these fares, Jetstar will offer amenities such as baggage allowances and meals. Oneworld members can also earn mileage rewards on Jetstar-operated flights.
