MA700 avionics test completed

AVIC has completed avionics systems testing for its MA700 turboprop programme.

The Chinese airframer says the tests, which took a week to complete, were conducted in Cedar Rapids in the US, and involved linking the avionics with the power system.

The latest updates come about a week after AVIC said it completed its first MA700 forward fuselage, the third major aircraft section produced.

It was previously reported that the first example of the new turboprop will be assembled by year’s end.

AVIC says that to date, the MA700 has 285 orders from 11 operators. It previously added that it hopes to get Chinese certification for the 86-seater by 2021, with entry into service by 2022.
