PICTURES: Maiden sortie for second T625 helicopter

Turkish Aerospace has performed the first certification flight of its T625 Gokbey intermediate-twin helicopter.

Carried out using the second flight-test prototype (TC-HLI), the sortie took place on 29 June.

Designed as a general-purpose utility helicopter for both civil and military missions, the 6t-class T625 can carry 12 passengers.

Powered by twin 1,370shp (1,020kW) CTS800 engines from Rolls-Royce/Honeywell joint venture LHTEC, it also features a five-bladed main rotor and an Aselsan flightdeck.

First flight of the initial T625 prototype (TC-HLP) took place in September 2018. Serial production is expected to start in 2021.
