Airlines in the Qantas Airways Group saw July RPKs fall 2.1% year-on-year.

Capacity, as measured by ASKs, fell 2.8% throughout the group and while July passenger traffic increased by 4.6% to 3.5 million, says the oneworld alliance member. The Australian flag carrier did not provide a reason for the figures.

The Qantas group comprises the international and domestic operations of both Qantas Airways and low-cost subsidiary Jetstar Airways.

Qantas' domestic RPKs fell 0.6% and ASKs fell 2.8%, while its international RPKs fell by 10.1% and ASKs fell by 11.4%.

Jetstar's international RPKs fell 17.1% and its ASKs fell 17.3%, while its domestic RPKs increased by 0.8% and ASKs fell by 0.9%.
