The Finnish army is making its debut appearance at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT), having brought two of its NH Industries NH90s to the UK show.

Drawn from the service's Utti Jaeger Regiment, based in Utti near Kouvola, one of the tactical transport helicopters is on static display, with the other taking part in the flying sequence at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on 20-21 July.

Finland has now taken delivery of 15 NH90s, from an order for 20 of the type. While its introduction of the rotorcraft is proceeding at a slower pace than expected - the army in 2010 outlined a schedule which called for it to receive its last Patria-assembled example in 2012 - its deployment to RIAT shows that the unit is expanding its operational use.

The Finnish air force also has brought one of its Airbus Military C295 medium transports to the show. Flightglobal's MiliCAS database records aircraft CC-3 as having been delivered during 2011.
