The Ukrainian air force has sent two of its aircraft to participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo in the UK, providing a rare glimpse of its combat capability.

A Sukhoi Su-27 fighter touched down at Royal Air Force base Fairford in Gloucestershire on 14 July, and is now on static display at the show. It is alongside one of the air force's Ilyushin Il-76 transports, which also made the journey from eastern Europe.

Ukraine has 65 Su-27s and roughly 45 operational Il-76s, according to Flightglobal's MiliCAS database.
