Taiwan's Daily Air is leasing four Viking Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft from CAVU Aviation Finance.

The twin turboprops will be delivered in the second and third quarters of this year and replace three Dornier 228s operated by the carrier under an essential air services (EAS) government contract to five islands along the southern coast of the country.

Daily Air has been operating the EAS routes since 2005 and is bidding to renew the contract with the Taiwanese civil aviation authority for another 10 years, an application CAVU and Viking are supporting with training and spares support.

Two of the Twin Otters were delivered to CAVU in 2013 and 2015, and the remaining two were delivered from Viking's British Columbia, Canada factory in June. They will be the first Series 400 Twin Otter aircraft in Taiwan.
