The new livery was first revealed in 2017 on an Emirates Boeing 777-300ER, featuring a blue “mobility” decal.

The inspiration for the new liveries was the Expo event’s logo, based on a 4,000 year old ring excavated at an archaeological site in Dubai.

The designs are made up of a pattern of circles, hoops and teardrop shapes, and the three colours reflect the themes of the Expo 2020 Dubai. Orange for “opportunity”, green for “sustainability” and blue for “mobility”. The Expo 2020 Dubai decals will remain on the fleet until April 2021.

“As we begin to gear up for Expo 2020 Dubai, we are proactively tapping into the power of Emirates’ network to spread awareness and capture the world’s attention around the themes of this global event with our mobility, opportunity and sustainability liveries” says his Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group.

The mini-fleet of 40 aircraft have collectively flown to 134 destinations across the world, sharing the message of the Expo. It took over 14 months to apply all the decals to 20 777s and 20 A380s.
