As Embraer readies itself for the first flight of its new Legacy 450 and 500 business aircraft, ahead of a projected first delivery in 2013, the firm has offered a glimpse into the production line for the type.

The Honeywell HTF7500E-powered 500 is planned to fly first, with its smaller sibling following a year later.

Certification of the type is set for late 2012 or early 2013. It features a full fly-by-wire flightdeck, claimed to be the only aircraft in the segment to offer this. Embraer claims 95% commonality between the models.

Also on view was the line for the large-cabin Legacy 600 and 650. The latter model is proving the more popular, but Embraer says it will continue to offer the shorter-range 600.
