The UK's National Association of Air Ambulance Services (NAAAS) is to add two helicopters to its emergency medical services (EMS) fleet of 14 by the end of the year and two more next year. Three models are being evaluated - the Eurocopter EC135, MD Helicopters Explorer and the Agusta A109 Power. A decision is expected by the end of this month.
NAAAS offers financial assistance to 13 of the 15 EMS providers in the UK through a three-year sponsorship deal with the UK's emergency car breakdown service, the Automobile Association.
