Czech manufacturer Evektor has flown its VUT100-131i SuperCobra high-performance light aircraft for the first time from its Kunovice, Czech Republic base (see video clip below). The all-metal four-seater is powered by a 315hp (235kW) Textron Lycoming IO-580A1B piston engine offering a maximum cruise speed of 175kt (325km/h), range of 1,850km (1,000nm) and useful load of 575kg (1,260lb).
European and US certification is planned for early 2008, leading to first deliveries soon after. Evektor's 200hp VUT100 Cobra stablemate is earmarked for certification and first deliveries next year.
- Meanwhile the Dutch Aeroplane Company flew its RangeR two-seat kitplane for the first time in September from the Netherlands start-up's base in The Hague.
