Vietnam low-cost carrier VietJet Air will launch a five-times-weekly service on the Ho Chi Minh City-Bali route, commencing on 29 May.

The carrier did not specify an aircraft type for the service, but operates both A320ceo and A320neo family jets.

Cirium’s schedules data indicates that this is the second direct air link between the two countries. The other link is operated by Vietnam Airlines, which operates a daily service on the Jakarta-Ho Chi Minh City route using A320 family aircraft.

Indonesia will become the fourth Southeast Asian country on the VietJet network after Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.
