Tupolev and BMW Rolls-Royce, have signed a preliminary agreement to fit the German company's BR710 turbofan, to the proposed Tupolev Tu-414 mid-size business/regional jet.
According to BMW R-R, the aircraft will be offered in two versions: a long-range business aircraft for 12 passengers; and a 60-70-seat regional jet. The Tu-414 is a two crew, low wing aircraft with a T-tail and 66kN (14,831)-thrust engines mounted either side of the rear fuselage.
BMW R-R says that it is also in talks over fitting its 82-90kN-thrust BR715 turbofan to the planned Beriev Be-200 amphibian. The Russian-engine version of the aircraft, intended primarily for fire fighting duties, will have twin ZMKB Progress D-436Ts.
