Recovery personnel at the site of yesterday's Iran Air Boeing 727-200 crash have retrieved both flight recorders from the wreckage.
The Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation states that the cockpit-voice recorder and the flight-data recorder have each been located.
"Read-out of the flight recorders will begin after they have been transferred to Tehran," states the CAO.
Flight IR277 came down outside the northern city of Urmia, its intended destination, following a service from Tehran. The circumstances of the accident remain unclear.
In a manifest the CAO confirms 93 passengers were on board, as well as 12 crew members: two pilots, a flight engineer, six cabin crew, and three other personnel listed as mechanics or flight-safety staff.
