British World Airlines took delivery of its first British Aerospace ATP QC (Quick-Change) on 15 September.

A second will arrive in December and "at least another two" in 1998, says sales director Mike Sessions, who adds that the aircraft "-have only been flown for about 20h each".

The aircraft, which are being taken on five-year leases from Aero International (Regional), will "eventually" replace the airline's Vickers Viscounts. They will be offered for sublease and ad hoc charter work and will be based "-wherever the business takes them", says Sessions.

Sister company World Aviation Support is adding capacity for the type and will maintain the aircraft at British World's base at Southend Airport, Essex.
