Airbus has secured European certification for the corporate jet version of the A319neo, some three months after its first flight.

The latest revision of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency's type certificate for Airbus single-aisle jets points to the approval of the ACJ319neo on 9 July.

EASA's update refers to the CFM International Leap-1A version of the aircraft.

The specification includes additional fuel capacity above the 23,700 litres of the regular A319neo, with an extra 5,300 litres in aft tanks.

Airbus started flying the Leap-powered ACJ319neo on 24 April, with MSN8612 destined for operator K5-Aviation. It applied for certification of the corporate variant in June 2015.

The airframer has confirmed certification of the jet, and says delivery to K5 will take place "in the coming weeks".

Its latest backlog figures show total orders for three A319neos from executive and corporate customers.
