ITP Industria de Turbo Propulsores, the Spanish engine subassemblies joint venture between Rolls-Royce and Spain's Sener Aeronáutica, aims to double revenue to nearly €1 billion ($1.36 billion) by 2015 and plans to invest €350 million in R&D and about €150 million in facilities. Engine component production could quadruple with the service entry of Rolls-Royce-powered Boeing 787s and Airbus A350s and more sales for the Trent 900 on the Airbus A380.

BAE SYSTEMS The airframer last year touted its Avro RJ85 regional jet as a potential replacement for ageing Tupolev Tu-134s and Yakovlev Yak-42s and hoped Russian operators would be interested in some examples which are coming out of the Lufthansa CityLine fleet. But now marketing boss Steve Doughty says customers are shying away in the face of harsh Russian import tax penalties: "They just don't want imported airframes in that size bracket."
