Welsh start-up MRO provider Cardiff Aviation has recruited Colin Harrison as head of base maintenance.

Harrison joins the St Athan hangar from UK systems supplier Cobham, where he was managing the conversion of Airbus A330s into air-to-air refuelling tankers.

He previously worked for British Airways's heavy maintenance operations in Cardiff, as well as for Airbus in Filton.

Cardiff Aviation has also revealed that it acquired a "vast array" of tooling for Airbus and Boeing aircraft from the inventory of former UK carrier BMI, following the latter's acquisition by BA parent IAG.
